Paola M. Ramos Mata, Esq.

Paola M. Ramos Mata is a first-generation attorney born and raised on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico.

Paola earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Puerto Rico in 2019 and graduated Magna Cum Laude. She completed a degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Law and Society and a certification in mental disorders due to substance abuse. While completing her bachelor’s, Paola worked with the non-profit organization Sanos helping communities in need.
During her work in Sanos, she prepared various short courses and presentations to help educate the homeless living in the streets of Caguas, Puerto Rico. Upon her completion, she attended The Interamerican School of Law. While in Law School, Paola developed a deep passion for Constitutional Law. This led her to become a member of the Innocence Project, where she participated in various pardon campaigns and helped raise awareness against injustices to the prison community. Paola also participated in the Legal Clinic of Right to Access of Information.
Her work include, but was not limited to, representing clients in information requests to various government agencies and attending hearings on their behalf. During the clinic, she also participated in hearings in the Senate and House of Representatives to amend the current legislation regulating the Constitutional Right of Access to Information. Along with her supervising professor and the Center of Investigative Journalism “CPI”, she presented a draft on what the amended project should contemplate. Her time in the Clinic helped her develop strong litigation skills, as she participated in various adversative hearings. In 2022, she obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the Interamerican School of Law graduating Cum Laude.
Paola is fluent in English and Spanish and is a member of the Puerto Rican Bar Association.
