Michael J. Arostegui is an associate attorney in the Silver Spring Office of Sanabria & Associates, PLLC. Michael works together with his fellow office attorneys to oversee and manage the work of all the paralegals, as well as prepare and represent clients for court hearings. Additionally, Michael takes every opportunity to provide mentorship to his fellow attorneys and paralegals.
Michael was born and raised in Miami, Florida and is a proud, first-generation middle child of two Nicaraguan immigrants. He graduated from St. Thomas University, where he was a scholarship baseball athlete, earning both his bachelor's and master's degree. In his master's program, Michael discovered the best way he could use his strength and compassion to help others…is by becoming a lawyer. Understanding how frightening the law can be, Michael is dedicated to being diligent, professional, transparent, honest, empowering others, and fighting for his clients until the very end.
Michael has over three years of experience preparing and winning numerous asylum and cancellation of removal claims before the Immigration Court, custody for Special Immigrant Juvenile status in state court, and representing clients in adjustment of status and citizenship interviews along with asylum, reasonable and credible fear interviews before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. Michael has also helped countless clients with waivers, family petitions, U Visas, and adjustments of status.
While studying at American University Washington College of Law, Michael participated in the Marshall Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project, where he educated high school students in Washington D.C. of their rights under the United States Constitution. He was also a student attorney for the Janet R. Spragens Federal Tax Clinic, assisting indigent clients with their IRS tax matters.
Michael is a member of the State Bar of Maryland and has been in good standing since June 2020.
