Geraldine Linares

Geraldine Linares is an Associate at Sanabria & Associates, PLLC where she specializes in immigration law.

Geraldine’s roots stem from the Dominican Republic. Although born in Puerto Rico and raised within the United States, she lived for some time in the Dominican Republic where she attended school and mastered the Spanish language. Her passion for immigration law comes from growing up and seeing the struggles her immigrant parents had to overcome to become residents.

Geraldine earned her B.A. from the University at Buffalo with a focus in Political Science and Anthropology and a minor in Latino studies. Geraldine went on to graduate law school from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad College of Law, in Florida. While in law school she was elected as a Student Bar Association Representative for three years, was a member of the National Team Advocacy program “NTA.” In addition, she was a member of the First-Generation Professionals Legal Society, Black Law Student Association, Caribbean Law Student Association, Hispanic Student Bar Association, and Toastmasters.

As an immigration attorney, she will represent her clients in removal defense, asylum, withholding of removal, and the intersection of immigration and criminal law. In addition, she will represent clients in Immigration Courts, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, Asylum Interviews, and Reasonable Fear Interviews. Geraldine also has extensive experience litigating workers’ compensation claims.

Geraldine is licensed to practice before the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. District Court for the District of New York, and is a member of the State Bar of New York. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
