Nora Picasso 

Nora Picasso Uvalle was born in Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, México, and is an immigration attorney with a strong commitment to advocating for immigrant rights and providing fair legal representation. Prior to joining Sanabria & Associates, she directed the myPadilla program at the Capital Area Private Defender Service, where she managed and expanded a statewide platform that offers advice regarding the immigration consequences of criminal offenses.

Her experience also includes representing asylum seekers as a Staff Attorney at Texas RioGrande Legal Aid, where she advocated for clients in immigration proceedings. She has also worked in policy research and litigation in Latin America, focusing on gender justice and human rights.

Nora earned her Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Harvard Law School, where she was recognized with the Dean's Award for Community Leadership. She also holds a Master's Degree from Universidad de los Andes in Colombia, and a Bachelor's in Law from Facultad Libre de Derecho de Monterrey in México, graduating with high honors. She is admitted to practice in Texas and México.

In 2024, Nora received the "Outstanding Young Attorney of Austin" award from the Austin Young Lawyers Association and the "Outstanding Young Attorney of Texas" award from the Texas Young Lawyers Association. A dedicated advocate and legal scholar, she has contributed to peer-reviewed publications on immigration law, gender justice, and human rights. She is also active in professional organizations, including the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
