Ernest Edwards

Ernest Edwards has been practicing immigration law since 2019, with a focused practice in business immigration. He represents both large multinational corporations and small businesses in transferring key personnel to the United States, including managers, executives, and employees with specialized knowledge. He also advises entrepreneurs launching new ventures in the U.S. market and foreign investors seeking to establish or acquire American businesses.

What distinguishes his practice is his work at the intersection of asylum and employment-based immigration. He regularly consults with individuals who have pending asylum applications and develops tailored strategies for pursuing employment-based pathways alongside or in lieu of their asylum claims. This often involves navigating immigrant visa categories, the labor certification process, the National Interest Waiver, and the treaty investor visa. For asylum seekers facing lengthy backlogs and uncertainty, this dual-track approach can open doors that might otherwise remain closed.

His broader business immigration practice includes counseling clients on multiple strategies. In each engagement, he evaluates the client's long-term business and professional objectives and formulates a roadmap toward lawful permanent residence.

Ernest is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Maryland. He earned his J.D. and his LL.M from American University, Washington College of Law.
