Nobody keeps a deportation lawyer's number "just in case." You landed on this page because something happened: a letter from the court, an ICE detention, a USCIS appointment that left you with more questions than answers.
Take a breath. There are still steps you can take.
At Sanabria & Associates, we've been defending Doral and Miami-Dade families against deportation proceedings since 2017. Our entire team is fluent in Spanish, along with English, Portuguese, and French, and we know that behind every file is a family, not just a case number.
A deportation case doesn't happen overnight. It typically follows these steps:
⚖️ Notice to Appear. This is the document that opens your case in immigration court.
⚖️ Master calendar hearing. The judge reviews the charges against you and sets a date for your main hearing
⚖️ Individual hearing. This is where your full defense is presented: evidence, witnesses, and legal arguments.
⚖️ Appeal, if needed. If the outcome isn't favorable, it can be appealed to the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA).
At every one of these stages, having legal representation changes the outcome. Showing up alone isn't the same as showing up with a lawyer who already knows how your judge works.
Every immigration case is different. That's why we offer representation in the areas our Doral and Miami-Dade clients ask about most:
We evaluate whether your family member detained by ICE qualifies for release on bond while their case moves forward.
We review whether your time in the U.S., your family, and your record qualify you to stop deportation permanently.
If you fear returning to your country because of persecution, asylum can be part of your legal strategy.
Voluntary Departure
In some cases, leaving on your own terms avoids harsher consequences later. We assess whether it makes sense for you.
Reopening
Cases
If you have an old deportation order and your situation has changed, we can evaluate whether your case can be reopened.
Appeals to the
BIA
If the judge ruled against you, you may still be able to appeal. We'll tell you if your case qualifies.
We're not a firm that "also handles" deportation cases from another state. We have a physical office in your community.
⚖️ Local Doral office: 9851 NW 58th St. Unit 103, Doral, FL 33178.
⚖️ Our whole team is fluent in Spanish, plus Portuguese, French, and English.
⚖️ Free consultation so you know your options before committing time or money.
⚖️ Established in 2017, with additional offices in Kendall and Orlando, and a presence in Maryland, Virginia, and DC.
⚖️ A human approach: we understand every deportation case carries a family behind it, not just a file.
For non-citizens, even a charge that sounds minor- a DUI, a shoplifting charge, a domestic battery accusation can carry immigration consequences that go far beyond the criminal courtroom, including mandatory detention or removal.
If you or a family member in Doral is facing a criminal charge while your immigration status is anything less than a green card or citizenship, that case needs to be handled with both sides in mind at the same time, not one after the other.
We review your legal history and read every notice you've received closely
We design a realistic, transparent strategy. We tell you the truth from day one.
We file the necessary petitions to pause any removal order or request bond.
Strong Representation in Court
We go with you to the Miami Immigration Court and defend your right to stay in the U.S.
Beyond the defenses above, a few other tools sometimes come into play depending on your situation:
⚖️ Withholding of removal, a narrower form of protection for people who don't qualify for asylum but still fear serious harm if sent back.
⚖️ Prosecutorial discretion, asking the government's attorney to exercise judgment and not pursue removal in cases with strong humanitarian or equitable factors.
⚖️ Writ of habeas corpus, a legal filing used to challenge unlawful detention.

DO YOU WANT BOOK A CONSULTATION?
What happens if I miss my immigration court date?
Never miss a legal appointment. If you don't show up, the judge will automatically issue a deportation order in absentia. If you had a medical emergency or never received proper notice, contact us right away to evaluate a motion to reopen.
Can I be deported if my kids were born in the U.S.?
Having U.S. citizen children doesn't automatically protect you from deportation. However, your children can be key to qualifying for defenses like Cancellation of Removal, if it can be shown they would suffer an extremely severe hardship if you were forced to leave the country.
How long does a deportation case in Miami take?
Timelines vary depending on the complexity of the case and the Miami Immigration Court's caseload. Some cases resolve in several months, while others can stretch on for years. During this period, it's often possible to request a work permit.
What should I do if ICE comes to my house in Doral?
Stay calm. You have the right to remain silent and not to open the door unless they present a judicial warrant signed by a judge (not just an administrative ICE order). Ask to contact your deportation defense lawyer immediately.
