Abigael Monahan Negron

Abigael Monahan Negron is a dedicated immigration attorney with a deep personal commitment to helping families navigate the complexities of the immigration legal system. Born in Lima, Perú, Abigael immigrated to New York as a child. She is half Peruvian and half Irish, bringing together two immigrant stories that shape her passion for advocacy and justice.

Abigael has been an advocate for immigration reform since the age of 15. She was inspired by her classmates who worked tirelessly to help pass the New York Dream Act.

She earned her Juris Doctor from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University, graduating with honors and receiving an International Advanced Certificate. She also holds a B.A. in Political Science and Global Security Studies from Syracuse University.

During law school, Abigael gained hands-on experience through the Immigrant Justice Clinic and internships with LatinoJustice, PRLDEF, and the Southern Poverty Law Center. After graduating, she began her legal career as a fellow with the Immigration Justice Corps.

Abigael has successfully represented clients in asylum and USCIS matters, with a particular focus on T visas for survivors of human trafficking.

She is fluent in Spanish and proficient in Brazilian Portuguese. Outside of her legal work, Abigael enjoys traveling, surfing, salsa, and trying new restaurants with friends and family.
