Aalekh Kaswala

Aalekh Kaswala is an Immigration Attorney at Sanabria & Associates’ Laurel, Maryland office. A Laurel native and the son of Indian immigrants. Aalekh grew up within the South Asian and Gujarati community he now serves. As the son of immigrants, Aalekh has experience with the immigration on a personal level and will bring both empathy and dedication to providing clear, calm, and impactful guidance to clients who are seeking relief at their most vulnerable moments.

Aalekh earned his Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Missouri and his Juris Doctor from George Washington University Law School, where he served as Director of Transfer Students for the Student Bar Association and as a member of the International Refugee Assistance Project. As a Student Attorney in GW’s Public Justice Advocacy Clinic, he managed federal FOIA and public interest matters from intake through litigation, representing public interest groups and individuals holding federal agencies accountable.

Before joining the firm, Aalekh served twice in the Maryland Attorney General’s Organized Crime Unit, first as a Law Clerk and later as a Volunteer Associate, researching Fourth Amendment issues, drafting subpoenas and indictments, and working alongside prosecutors, law enforcement, and victims to prepare evidence for trial. He was also a legal extern with the White House Counsel’s Office.

Aalekh also served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Regina S. Edwards in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky and to the Honorable Zuberi B. Williams in the District Court of Maryland.

Aalekh remains active in the immigrant small-business community. In that capacity, he has coordinated advocacy for more than 100 immigrant business owners and given public comment opposing legislation that would harm immigrant-owned small businesses.

Aalekh provides legal services in English and Gujarati. He endeavors to ensure that clients understand and navigate the immigration process without fear. Aalekh is dedicated to providing effective representation to individuals and families like his own who seek to avail themselves of the American dream.
